Wassup gamerz, today we will be reviewing a new gaming laptop from MSI. Before I start let me give you a super brief background of this brand. MSI is one of the top gaming brands which are famous in making gaming laptops for over a decade now. Recently MSI has upgraded their gaming laptops and launched the latest hardware specifications of the year. One of the models which I will be reviewing is MSI GF75 Thin 9SC 036MY. Let’s find out what does this gaming laptop have to tell us.
Design and Physical Attributes
From its appearance, MSI GF75 comes with an overall simple and sharp design. The laptop is black colour and has a red MSI logo with brushed aluminium aesthetics. Although this gaming laptop does not have those RGB glowing lights or effect, I still feel it looks pretty nice and sleek in terms of looks. Moving on, the MSI GF75 weighs 2.2kg and is 0.90 inches thick only, which lessen the burden of carrying it around.

Display and Speakers
MSI GF75 has a big display of 17.3” inch FHD (1920 x 1080) with IPS panel which produces vibrant colours and detailed display. Besides that, the display has thin bezels which makes excellent viewing angles.

However, the speaker is not up to my expectation. Don’t get me wrong though. The speaker indeed can fill a small-sized meeting room with its volume but it lacks the bass that I wanted. Even with the help of Nahimic 3 audio software (comes along with the gaming laptop), the audio output is just average. You will need to tune and adjust the setting up to your desired and satisfaction sound level.
Performance and Battery Life
On to the performance, the MSI GF75 does not disappoint as it comes with the latest 9th Gen Intel Core I7 processor, 8GB ram, 512GB SSD and Nvidia GTX 1650 graphic card. The games that I tested on the laptop are Warhammer Vermintide 2, The Witcher 3 and PUBG and everyone of it runs at 60 FPS and above with all the graphic settings have been set to HIGH. It also runs perfectly fine with minimum amount of frame drops and no graphic stutter.

Player’s Unknown Battleground (PUBG)
Moving on to battery life, the MSI GF75 lasted me about 4-5 hours on normal use. While on gaming, it lasted me for 2 hours before plugging the charger. For a high spec gaming laptop and powering a 17.3” inch screen, I would say the performance of the battery is justified.
Last but not least, MSI GF75 also comes with additional 2.5” SATA HDD slot if you feel your storage is not enough as well as additional ram slot which can support up to a total of 64GB.
For all of its effort, MSI GF75 manages to perform decently well with is specifications and its slim and light form factor. With the price of the model selling at RM 5,199 and its smaller brother which is 15.6” model selling at RM 4,899, the MSI GF75 is a solid performer nonetheless. It works well between your work and gaming life which is suitable to those looking for a casual and budget gaming laptop.
